I just bought a door-frame Pull-Up bar ...

Safeway

And damn, it is intense. I have been working out for several months, but these pull-ups are insane. I can do a few sets of like 5 or 6 and few more after a little break, but then my arms are dead. I've done probably 30 or 40 today though.

This bar is to help me edge a win in TallBill's competition; specifically, in the body recomposition goal. The pull-ups should also help me beat out my training partner in preacher curls and dumbell curls. I'm already kicking his ass in lap pull-downs. Boo-yah!

My pull-ups are from dead (100% down) to chin height.

That's funny..

Pull ups will help you with Preacher Curls, Dumbell curls, and even Lat pull downs, yet it won't vice versa according to you in the other thread ?

If you had 2 brain cells instead of one, you would have read my entire post in the other thread and realized that I said the best way to improve is with more pull-ups, NOT THE ONLY WAY. Read entire posts and create thoughtful replies instead of posting adrenaline-fueled nonsense that disregards everything posted!

That said, all the curls will help with pull-ups, and all the pull-ups will help with curls.

The best way to improve curls is curling.
The best way to improve pull-ups is pulling-up.

Curling is not the only way to improve curls.
Pulling-up is not the only way to improve pull-ups.

You're the piece of crap that said I had no clue what i was talking about when I suggested he include other exercises into his regimen for his pull ups improvement.

Talk about lacking brain cells..

Please continue doing pull ups you sack of crap.
and lets see how much more improvement you see in your other exercises.

OR better yet, why don't you try the reverse ?
Try incorporating other exercises to improve the amount of pull ups.

K Thx

That post actually made me laugh.

First I'm just a lonely piece of crap, separated from the mother loaf. But then, I'm an entire sack of crap that someone filled up to light on fire and place on an innocent home owner's front porch.

Anyway, we are both right ... and I can live with that.

I figured it needed to be kicked up a notch 😛
Anyhow good luck on your goals.

They're called lat pull downs.

Edit: And I go from dead til the bar touches my chest... 😛

Well, if you count 10 screw holes as damage, then yes. Other than that, no.

Hehe. I used to do the same thing when I had a bar. Now I have to run 2.5 miles to it, and then 2.5 miles back - there is a bar on the trail I run.
