I just bought a 100-pk of Imation CDs, it came in a spindle with a "ring"

Yo I dunno...and on the bottom there is something that looks like a clear CD. It doesn't work though, I tried it 🙂
 
I think its for sorting cds, so like you can have half the spindle pron, put the ring there and the other half goat pron 😀
 
The "ring" might be something placed in the spindle so the vibrations are dampened during shipping.

btw, ALL CDs that come in spindles have the clear plastic "CD" at the botoom
