Sorry, but no steak is worth $60...unless it is the size of my head.

I had an awesome 32oz? Prime Rib for 45$. This guy was the size of my head, and very nice just under 2" thick 😀

It might have been 24oz i cant remember. It was huge and tasty though 😀

Did anyone watch The Man who shot Liberty Valence? They had some big ass steaks in that movie. I was getting hungry just watching them cook it.

Did you eat it all?

The best steakhouse I've ever eaten at was Udder's Steakhouse on Highway 14 in Iowa...

Got a ribeye with buffet for $32.99, the kicker at this place though is that you have the option to have their staff cook your steak or you can go to the grill room they have and cook it up...

I'm fairly decent grilling so I grilled my own up and it was amazing... Best meat I've ever had in my life...

Just wish they had different choices on the buffet besides baked potato, slaw, and baked beans...

Oh well, damn good food...

we buy a whole cow every year. I have never ever had a restraunt steak taste as good as the beef we get from our butcher. he only buys grain fed cows and when you place your order he ages it 2 months before you can get it. Every person that i have had over for steak night ask where i got the beef because it is the best they have ever had.

i would never spend more than 20 bucks for a steak in a restraunt.

Last year we paid $2.25 a pound for the whole cow. it came to just over 800 bucks.

Wish we had such options in nyc.

That is awesome.

El, you really must try this because it's puerco pibil. It's a slow-roasted pork, nothing fancy. It just happens to be my favorite, and I order it with a tequila and lime in every dive I go to in this country. And honestly, that is the best it's ever been anywhere. In fact, it's too good. It's so good that when I'm finished, I'll pay my check, walk straight into the kitchen and shoot the cook. Because that's what I do. I restore the balance to this country. And that is what I would like from you right now. Help keep the balance by pulling the trigger.

Im sure you do, it might be a long process in finding a butcher that does what mine does but in NYC im sure there are a few. My mom and dad found out about Verge our butcher from taste. my dads boss had us over when i was a kid and my mom and dad loved the beef so much he got Verges phone number... he has been in business since the 50's and yes he is old. His son will be taking over the shop very soon.

all overpriced food is truly overrated.

i went to this italian place that was $45 a person last week. i got this mushroom pasta dish that was decent. "good" is not really the appropriate word. i'd probably eat it again if it were $25 cheaper. but $45 is outrageous.

and half of my friends paid the $45 for pizza.

If it's overpriced, then yes. Absolutely. That of course does not mean however that all higher priced restaurants are overpriced.

As far as well-priced Italian Restaurants in the city are concerned, you might consider Sotto Cinque.

my options are limited since i only eat at kosher restaurants. 🙁

and no, not all higher priced restaurants are overpriced. but this one definitely was. there were more college kids eating with us than us young professionals. had i known that they'd be paying so much, i'd have chosen a more affordable restaurant near times square (my most favorite dessert -- it has the best desserts ever).
