Oh god this was a bad idea. Can't feel my brain.

On the bright side: it's only 800 calories!

Incoming terribly wrong bullshit of 'McNuggets are made of mechanically separated by-product pink paste.'

So easy to hate on big corps and never check facts yourself, especially when half the very shit you eat is worse than McD.

I'm 185 lbs and could eat 40 of them if I wanted. Although I wouldn't. When I'm really active some days I bet some of my meals are 1500+ calories.

Yep, 9 nuggets were 2.69 here and 20 were 3.99. I figured what the hell since I've never had 20 before.

It's actually not too bad, considering I eat healthy the rest of the time. It's just the fat/sodium of the McNuggets that makes my brain melt for a few hours.

What is that?

Mechanically separated chicken. Aka pre-chicken nuggets served in school lunches.

To zeze - my food looks as god intended it. My coffee beans look like coffee beans. My spinach leaves look like spinach leaves, my romaine lettuce looks like romaine lettuce. My eggs look like eggs. My big chunks of salmon fillets look like big chunks of salmon filets. My NY strips looks like NY strips. And my eggplant looks like an eggplant. The sauce for the eggplant parmigiana came from my own garden, and my squash still looks like a squash. I actually know what's going into my stomach. (that's my food for the next three days)

Eating fast food is a crap shoot. Literally.

You just don't know what kind of awful things you are digesting. But like Dr Pizza said I like my food to look like food which is why I don't eat fast food.

I'm really kinda iffy on subway these days. I thought they were a step above fast food but their chicken has some kinda awful taste to it like some processed garbage. I'm really starting to wonder if that's how they offer $5 footlongs.

I think that is the pink slime that Jamie Oliver was talking about. McDonalds used to add this to hamburgers to make them taste better. The slime is made up of the fat and other parts that are supposed to be discarded but of course they found a "good" use of it. FDA supposedly allows 15% of your hamburger meat to consist of this material.
I remember that once Jamie Oliver made it known of what McDonalds was doing, they suspended the practice of using the pink slime in their meats.

Their $5 advertising campaign is amazing. It doesn't cost a sub shop anywhere near that to use good ingredients on a sub. Locally, I can get a 2 foot sub, made with the best fresh roast beef that I've seen for only about $8. (and the roast beef is layered on a lot thicker than at subway. Another nearby shop has TWO foot subs of better quality than subway for only 7.49.

Why did you find it necessary to repeat the last two sentences in your post?
:hmm:

Umm good for you for eating healthy?

If something is ground = it's no longer natural = bad for you? After I broke up with my ex, I started running 4 miles 3x a week/worked out/ate moderately.

I lost 25 pounds (190 -> 165), looked pretty damn good, and felt GREAT.

And during that I still ate McD, nuggets, fried foods, and ramen. It's ALL about moderation & balance, not what it 'looks like' and 'natural'.

You can still be an unhealthy fat ass gorging on 'natural' NY strips, 'natural' squash, etc. And what's natural about picking a random fruit seed, roast it, ground it, and make a stained drink out of it? (I'm not a coffee drinker).

Losing weight isn't all of it. Over time the garbage in McD's will cause you many internal problems. Probably won't notice for a long time but keep eating that shit and you'll be having an open heart surgery. I have no doubt you can lose weight eating a McDonalds only diet.

I didn't say that's all I ate, I said 'balance & moderation'.

Me doing all that healthy cardio/work out & eating healthy + whatever junk food once in a while is FAR healthier than someone who's binging all natural and not exercising.
