I can't afford it this decade but i'm pissed off about it, who's got ideas on what i should say to the dealership. i'm thinking about stopping and saying something when i get out of work. i'm one of those people that if i owned it i'd be like it's never been in the rain etc.. :|

I would think being driven in the rain (ie getting the underside wet) would be more harmful than what effectively amounts to being washed.

Yes I read the post. The whole point of the question is that he should not give a damn about how the car is stored.

That's a really stupid comment. That is like the car salesman taking the cars out and beating the sh!t out of them, then you say, is that your car? It might be if I had the money. A car that prestigous should be on the main showroom floor, not out in the rain. I too, would be pissed.

Most Viper owners will never even think about taking the car out in the rain...

You'd probably be surprised at how dealers handle what would be considered expensive cars. If it's an exclusive dealer of sports/luxury cars they are totally different, but the morons at the Dodge dealer probaby treat Vipers like PT Cruisers. That's why I will never buy an expensive car from a dealer that sells other cheaper stuff.

Yeah a salesman beating the crap out of the car is equivalent to a car sitting in the rain.

Explain the difference to me. You wouldn't want a car your gonna buy to have the sh!t beat out of it. And if I had the money, I wouldn't want my Viper out in the rain. The point is, they are treating the situation carelessly. No one, and I mean no one, will buy that Viper after seeing it in the rain when they can order one for the same price that has never seen any elements...

People are stupid and I am sure there is someone that will throw the cash down for the car.

just to point out. saying rain is just like washing your car...i don't think you wash your car with the same water that can be deem'ed acid rain. .. stabbing the dealer comes to mind or deflating one of his own cars tires.

Christ, people, I'm the one whose namesake is being rained on, & I don't see what the BFD is.

If it gets washed, it gets wet.

If it rains, it gets wet.

I would object to one being DRIVEN in the rain, but just sitting outside during a surprise rainshower is pretty insignificant.

if they washed it RIGHT after the rain, and dry it thoroughly, i wouldnt see a problem with it. but, i dont think they are going to take the time to do that either.

That's it? I think he should be beaten and have his house burned down as well.

There is a ferrari dealer near me, and they always let about 10 or so exotic cars sit out in the rain and sun all day long. I dunno why they do, but they do.

Man you need to relax, it's only sheetmetal. In the end you won't know the entire car's history after a decade of use or abuse when you buy one. BTW, if it's the dealer's car, then he has every right to leave it outside if he wants to.
