Hi, What do you guys think of this setup.

Click here if you want to buy from Canada.

OR

Click here if you want to buy from US.

I was also looking to get into water cooling and just wanted to know what you guys thought of that cooling package, is it a okay deal or is it bad?

"vertigofm" are you looking for somthing like that.

Also, I know its a basic kit.

What do you guys think of this setup, is it good or bad and could you say why.

*Review*

Tell us what YOU think! 🙂

First of the pump is not strong enough, you should use a biger tube and the overall temps after using it was not so good.

There you go...

Some thoughts:

1. There's nothing wrong with 3/8in tubing as long as your blocks are designed for it. I've seen some very functional and attractive rigs that use it.

2. Water-cooling your NB isn't a "waste" or "useless." MY SB and PWM area are the warmest components on my MB. If I decided to water-cool them, thereby efficiently venting excess heat from my case, why would I be somehow "wrong" for doing so? Just something to consider.
3. Kits get the job done. However, the best of them are composed, in most cases, of the same parts you'd order for yourself, only someone else gets to decide what those parts are. As far as ease of setup, a kit still has to be assembled, which is where the REAL challenge (and fun) is. Also, selecting the components are a wonderful opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge before you dive in, if you indeed decide to.

Good luck with your rig, vertigofm. If there's some aspect of water-cooling you'd like to brainstorm just post. I'll offer any assistance I can.
1) True, but 1/2" tubing is virtually always preferrable, and the performance difference is noticable. I'll admit that if you're watercooling for silence, it isn't necessary, but if you're cooling for performance... its pretty much a given.

2) The PWMICs/SB may get up to ~40-60C [thereby being the 'hottest' components in your system, but the amount of heat energy they are putting out is miniscule in comparison with the heat energy being excreted by the CPU/GPU. Same reason why you can touch a 1000C sparkler and not get burned.

3) Kits get the job done, I'll admit that--but they are usually more expensive than when ordered individually, and don't usually perform as well.

Good luck with the rig. Sorry for the thread jacking =|

1. Just you saying "1/2 is almost always prefereable" doesn't make it so. Like I said, there are other factors in play besides just ID. Please try not to elevate personal choice, and lack of situation-specific knowledge, to binding fact. Again, there are many fine performing rigs that use 3/8ID tubing.

2. You're looking at the situation the wrong way. Technically, no one has to water-cool, air is good enough for commercially available FRU's. However, if one decides to water-cool there's absolutely no reason not to include multiple heat sources. We are talking about a form of thermal management, right? Water-cooling isn't a one-size-fits-all religion that can only be practiced one way. It boils down to personal choice\available funds\inclination.

3. You're missing the point yet again. Some people might not want to go through the hassle of multiple-sourcing, for whatever reason. That's their choice, not mine. About expense, I never offer cost up as a determinent when I decide to give advice. I have no interest in trying to guage what someone else should or shouldn't spend on a project I don't have to pay for. I'm sure many people here would question what I spent on my current cooler given the chance, but frankly I don't care. I extend this same courtesy to others.
