I drive an ULEV vehicle, and I need my car to go to work. I don't usually drive agressively, my tires are perfectly inflated from the factory.

I do everything I can to save gas. I just paid $40+ dollars to fill up a civic. Something is wrong with that.

Again, that's not the attendants fault. Carry a credit card or $10 bills if you want gas. Just remember, if it pisses you off that much, just don't buy gas.

It'll pass $4 this year. So? Ride a bike, get a motorcycle, or take the bus; reducing consumption is the only "drastic" measure that will make a difference. Look, gas is going to get more and more expensive as it becomes more difficult to extract...in a century, I doubt we'll be using ANY oil for energy. Oh, and check your tire pressure, since they might have lost a bit of air "from the factory"

How about people getting fired from their jobs because of gas prices? In NY, my friend got laid off because his company (he is a contractor for time warner cable) can't afford gas, and had to cut down on the number of trucks they can send out every day.

Of course it is. We all know this.

However, our current situation in the USA isn't going to change soon. We're in this situation because we've allowed our country to be run by oil men who care more about making as much money as long as possible than planning for energy problems. We've known for over 50 years that the day would come when oil would be a major problem but we've buried our heads in the sands and ignored the problem instead of planning properly.

This is the result and it's NOT going to get better soon.
