Now if you were to HIT an EAGLE with a GOLF BALL, that would be something worth posting about.

Freakin' golfers.

Well, my congrat OP, I know where your coming from.....

Only eagle I ever did was ace a par 3 (160yd)...LOL, didnt see the ball go down, though it rolled off the green due to green height. Anyway spent 5 min looking for the darn thing, only to have my partner pull the ball out of the hole while pulling the flag out.....

lol if the ball comes out when the flag is pulled technically that is not a hole in one

It was a par 4, and I got to about 20 yards in front of the water in two shots. I was just going to chip it up onto the green and instead i hit the ball square with my iron sending it line driving into the water, it skipped up onto the green and left me an easy par shot.

Probably the most useless article ever in Golf Digest was Ernie Els showing you how to skip a 2 iron across a pond when you had no other choice. I have done it a few times (Never on purpose).

Not true. Once the ball is holed, the play for that hole is over. Observe Verplanck's hole-in-one at the Ryder Cup; he just bent down & lifted the ball out of the hole without removing the pin.

well if the ball already sunk all the way in then its a hole in one. However if the ball is stuck between the pin and the hole, if you pull the pin out and the ball comes out, it wont count as holed.

Thats just spliting hairs isn't it. Holed off the tee, just the flag against the ball in the hole. What are you supposed to do?

edit for bad grammer
