Sorry to hear for your loss. I nearly hit a deer last month on the way home. I only have a 2.5 mile commute on a mostly busy street, but a deer just bounded in front of me. Fortunately I was only going 40 so I was able to come to a stop JUST before clipping it. I was also fortunate that the driver behind me wasn't tailgaiting and also stopped in time.

You're lucky the deer didn't come up over the hood and through the windshield. People have been killed by that. When you know you're going to hit a deer, they say you should actually let go of the brake so the car is not nosediving such that the risk of the deer coming up over the hood is less.

Yeah.. I was driving home after litterally 6 hours of travel.. we were supposed to pick someone up and they ended up not bing there.. so right before we got home after ALL those hours, I hit the deer about three miles from home.

I was thankful that the deer did not land in our laps and frickin kill us.

a) i cant believe you paid 6700 for that car

b) the car can be fixed for around 300 bucks worth o parts... wouldnt be worth my time though

c) your insurance should cover the repair... or total it and give you the cash

you never cease to be such an asshole. maybe he paid 6700 a little while ago, and the car was newer. 300 dollars worth of parts? please tell me where you will get the headlights, grill, hood, radiator, and some other random small stuff. 300 dollars?! pfft. you are an idiot (not that everyone didnt know that already). id also like to see you fix the airbags in that 300 dollar total. you couldnt even do ONLY the airbags for 300! go troll somewhere else you lamer.

They're basically dogs on stilts, not too much danger from them.

Elk/moose/etc are entirely another story.

I knew a kid who was killed when a elk was hit by a full size truck (headed the opposite direction) & flipped on top of the car he was riding in.

I totalled my car on two elk, they both walked away.

Insurance is great. I send them $1200 every year, and in return I get ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. When my hour of need finally does come, they will find a loophole in the fine print, and determine that I'm not elligable for coverage. But at least my payments will go up!

I gather you don't like Venison? ::shrug::

I was just thinking that the difference can be taken out of your food costs if you ate that thing in the next month or two.

Don't know about you, but I sure could go for some tenderloin right now. There a guy here that will cut up a whole deer for $40, makes bundles after hunting season.

If it is REALLY five days before, the insurance company will pay for that too.

They paid for my $300 hitch and $23 tank of gas when I crashed my truck.
