I hit a deer the other day! My car isnt even messed up very badly and the full coverage insurance won't pay for it. It cost 2k just to put the airbags back in plus a bunch more for the cracked radiator... I'm going to get a check from the insurance for like $600 when my car's bluebook is like 1600 and there was never anything wrong with it ever! AND I just payed off the $6,700 the car cost! I know they wont pay more for fixing it than the car is worth, but come on! They've sucked thousands of dollars outta me for years, and now they wont provide any help. I'm screwed. I have no car.

how fast were you going? that deer looks like it could walk away. those airbags hurt in the wallet a little putting them back in. glad to see you're ok?!
 
Why exactly won't comprehensive cover it?

Definitely fight them for it, as others have said they don't stay profitable by paying out easily. Unless you were a moron & let your coverage lapse or something like that they should be covering this.

I hit a deer a few years ago in the Celebrity... the car wasn't wrecked, but because it was old, they wrote it off.... 🙁
the deer hobbled away alive.. i hope it didnt die..

a) i cant believe you paid 6700 for that car

b) the car can be fixed for around 300 bucks worth o parts... wouldnt be worth my time though

c) your insurance should cover the repair... or total it and give you the cash

HA! I killed that deer. I was slowing down from 62 to 55 when I saw it, then hit it at about 47-50 I guess...It was alive for a while.. kickin and stuff.. broke its leg clean off.. right at the socket.
It cost 67 bucks to tow it.... im fine.. my gf got hit in the face with the air bag.. I got hit in the chest.
 
check ebay for your airbags. you can probably get 1 for about $100-300. you'll have to get a professional to install it though.

Yeah... I'm getting a truck next. No more of this car crap. I'll buy a deer guard and put posion tipped spikes on it.
