I hereby proclaim Battlefield: Vietnam fun!

I've tried the Battlefield games before and never really got into them. I'm not much for team-based games, and the action seemed too slow and tedious for me. Well, at the LAN party at work today, we played BFV a lot, and in a LAN setting, it's much easier to get the hang of the game and know what to do. As a result, I retract my previous statements. I found out that I suck at piloting the vehicles, though, which is sad because I played Descent a lot, and do well in the vehicles in UT2004, which was also played.

Oh yeah, and I was pretty much tied with one other guy as the top player in both games. I think he was the better player, however, and there were a few other guys who could give me a run for my money. One dude was actually cheating (yes, official and confirmed, we looked on his computer) and I still managed to tie him. If only I had kept playing these last few months/years!

Good times. I highly recommend it to anyone interested.

I love that game. It's better than 1942 I think. Generally speaking I'm not very good at FPS games and I don't like to play them that much, but I love Vietnam and I've gotten to be pretty good at it.

I've had that game sitting on my desk for about 3 months now and I still have'nt installed it yet. I gotta find more free time

I played it a ton for about 6 months then got burned out. I was the master pilot 🙂 one of the most fun things was loading up a full huey slick and capping flags in about 3 seconds. I quit after I got scores of like 45-1 as a pilot. it had some pretty big flaws though; one of the big features was the foliage, which would magically disappear if you were far enough away allowing you to be sniped easily.

Feel free to send it to me, I would be glad to take it off your hands.

There are some things that have made me really LOL for about 20minutes. One time i did a loop-de-loop in the chinook/cargo helicopter (the one with two rotors) with a tank attached and it automatically fell off and landed on an ally choper taking off and killed like 4people.

edit: just so you know, you can loop the choper upside down, point the nose up, and keep tilting it left or right, but not jamming down on the button, just before you reach the midway point slow the spin down so you still have control when it comes out of the loop.
