I had my college classes scheduled like that because I DID have a job. Ya know, a real one, not a pizza delivery job.

ps damn you fenixgoon for making me look at bannerweb.

Only 4 classes?

I had a schedule one year with nothing earlier than 1pm, but I had about 24 hours of class.

it's 16 (quarter) credit hours, so 16 hours in class per week. normally i'm in 18-20 range but they didn't offer a class i need, and can't go over 20 without getting billed more.

Waa-oooow. I'm guessing that sarcastic comments about "the real world", "work" and "the real life after college" won't be well-received in this thread, right? 🙁

MEH. Like that's EVER stopped me before!!! 😀

Just wait until after college, IF you can get a job, when they pay you $25K less than you were SO SURE you'd earn b/c of your fancy degree (but little or no real world experience). Possibly, you have student loans to pay and/or other credit owed.

Your new apartment + car payment + your other bills are more than you take home in a month and you'll have to get a SECOND JOB...stocking shelves! :Q; OMFG, wwwwaaaaat?

OTOH, you may be a typical New Smart Young Person and not have gotten ass-over-head in debt, you owe nothing, own your car, have a great relationship with your parents, etc. Possibly, your $25K/year job will net you $18K/year net in your pocket. With no bills to pay you make a down payment on your first house within a year.

And then you hit the Lotto and live happily ever after with Megan Fox and she blows you for breakfast every morning.

/throws ice water on your head

And then you woke up.

Anyway...I'm happy about your schedule. It certainly looks "college-lazy-ish" enough for the typical party-all-night-sleep-all-day young hip kid of today. Congrats.

Let us know how the real world afterwards works out for you.

Oops, didn't see that the night classes were longer than an hour. They only cover the hour space, so I just assumed.

I'm out by 12:15 and I think its great.
Of course, I'm 29 now and got all my partying done in the Navy.
American college kids who think spring break in Cancun is awesome are just fooling themselves. Theres about a hundred places in Europe which are much better.

I swear my worst time in college was my 2nd year when all required EE classes were at 8am and all required CS classes (back when I was thinking about minoring) were at 7pm.

who pissed in your cheerios? 😛

i'm not the partying type - i'm relatively financially conservative, because i know i have bills to pay and grades to keep up. i'm hoping the scholarship i applied for will guarantee me a job out of college. if not, i still have plenty of options, IMO.

also, i had a job with an effective pay of ~30k/year and paid my bills just fine and had a decent amount of cash to spare, which could easily go towards student loans. and yes, i do have some real world experience thanks to my co-op job.

in my opinion, good engineers are always in need. i guess that makes me a bit of an optimist 😛

Yeah, there's no good engineers that just got laid off.

wow that's awesome. I remember my best college schedule was when I had fridays off, but the rest of those days were packed. 8:30-4:30, with spares in between at the worse times. This one day I had like a 3 hour spare. THAT sucked. We played lot of cards and pool though. 😉

What the fuck is your deal?

If I was a regular student, I'd probably do something like that. I love sleep. But then again, the evening is MY time dammit. I'm not gonna pay to waste away my evening. Hell to the no.

Most days of the week, and soon moving to all 5 school days on many weeks, I'm up at the asscrack of dawn for ROTC.
If I schedule right, I'm usually done by 1pm every day.

I absolutely love it. Get home from class, grab lunch, sit down and nef or watch some tv or play some games... or nap. Oooo how often I will enjoy a great nap on the couch. Other days I thoroughly abuse various energy products for concentration and just plain energy to stay up without a nap all afternoon and evening, get some work done, and yet I usually don't hit the sack till around 11 or 12. And yep, back up at 530 or so the next day. One of these days I'll actually fix myself and get to sleep around 10. Can't do it though. May be somewhat tired but mind will be awake enough to keep me from passing out for awhile... and often I just cannot convince myself I need to get to sleep - often feel like I might miss something for some weird reason. My mom said it like that when I talked to her last and it's pretty true. Been that way all my life. Getting me to go to sleep was a pain in the ass when I was a kid, and I remember those days vividly. I just wanna lounge around endlessly doing nothing, but not sleeping. Once I'm in bed, I'd prefer not to get up, often feels like it would take someone shoving me off my bed to wake me. 😛

Man, I was the exact opposite in University. I had all of my classes crammed in the morning so I could be done shortly after lunch.

KT

Me too ... I was generally off by noon so I could work and do other things in the afternoon.

Nobody can beat my roommate's schedule right now (in grad school). M 1-6, W 2-6. That means Th - Sun off every week (a "four day weekend", so to speak).

2pm is the new 8am

at least for you

waking up for classes sucks, just like waking up for work sucks. its not when you have to do it, its what you have to do it for

In science I had to have a lot of 8:30 classes. they were cruel and impossible to stay awake for. The arts students all got to have late classes.

Fast forward to who's working where and making what, jokes on them, hee hee 🙂

Must be nice to not have to work full time to pay for school....

Yup, earning scholarships and working part-time is the way to go.

I had calculus at 7:30 AM. It was terrible.

Now I'm applying to grad school, so the engineers/lawyers/businessmen can laugh at me...but my stipend is still higher than what the art, english, and communications majors make.😛

Once I graduate, biotech should keep me comfortable, if not exorbitantly wealthy.

I love my morning schedule. I have 2 classes Monday/W/F from 7:40-9:50AM then I have 3 T/TR from 10:50-3:15. I am up at 5:40 for a 6am hockey practice M/W/F too. I've done the not starting till after lunch thing. But this is way better. I'm up and done early most days, I can sleep in the others and am still not out too late.
