You are saying the amp isn't good on the Denon????? Or is that a typo? If you want it to be a pure processor why not get an outboard amp and use the receiver as just a processor?

Ribbon 13: The questions about your number of posts and the rather "high ended" equipment you operate, have made this one of the most enjoyable posts I have ever seen on this forum. In fact I have been laughing and smiling this entire post. One question if I may, however, Do you happen to own or manage a company like New Egg or some other similar venue? I have followed your posts on various topics and fine that your advice and research is alway top notch. You speak with great authority and knowledge. Just my two cents worth if you will.

Thank you. Though a lil pet peeve of mine is capitlizing my username and adding a space to it. :p I've worked for a variety of companies, but never any retailers such as newegg. Most of my money work was for Boeing, Raytheon, Cybeau, and Northrop Grumman. But the past few years I worked in game dev and got burnt out by it fairly quickly.

Computers have been a hobby of mine for years. I remember building my first Heathkit. I remember when I shelled out half my life savings for a 8086 prototype. Ah, those were the years. Anyway, I pretty much live and breathe computers, so offering advice is a great hobby nowadays. As for all the aholes that get on my case, que sera, I really don't care what people think. I have nothing to prove to anyone. Which is exactly why I'll probably never post photos of my setup for all to see, as that would go against the previous statement. As a wise person once told me, let those that respect me, respect me, and those that don't can fvck off. ^^

No one has gotten on your case, we're simply questioning your purchase the same way you do to many others. So I hope you are not talking about Jello or Me.

Well, let's see. I would start out with something like the CRAY, and maybe incorporate a small nuclear power plant into the design plans, just to ensure proper power... :)

Receiver? LOL.

I may sell you my FM 811 RS. It was recently appraised for $55k. You *will* need equally esoteric speakers - or more properly phased - speaker system to realise its potential, however. If your house has anything less than 400A service don't bother either.

Oh and computers? PC components are not even on the table for "unlimited funds". Too bad there are no more blank checks from NASA. :)

Hell - why not one of those computer farms with hundres and thousands of computers networked together? With a projetion screen the size one of New york city movie theater's? And yes, even a opra house sound system. Even with all that, is it really worth it just to play HL2 or Splinter cell? Or did you really just want to calculate pi forever?

While not unlimited, I have been making plans for some time now.

I've already got dual 18" LCDs, a multifunction printer, DL DVD burner, keyboard, mouse, etc.

Yeah, if I had unlimited funds, I'd be more worried about the "carrying case" for my new computer. You know, like a Cessna Citation or a Maybach 57 :)

Why bother? Why not build a custom theatre?

Barco Cine 9
Barco Versum Master
300" Stewart Filmscreen Blackhawk Xtreme

Lexicon MC12b
7 Crown Studio Reference1s in monoblock.

Dude, "I HAVE UNLIMITED FUNDS" is no way to attract the swarms of rabid geeks wanting to configure a rich person's PC.
