I'm talking about sunny SoCal weather, not some shitty weather state you guys have over there on the east coast. Obviously, i would be driving a beater if that were the case.

FWIW, driving behind 3 or 6 car lengths, the moment the asshole in front engages his wipers, the car behind him is going to get hit. I guess too many people on here drive POS so they don't relate...and i dont blame you bros.

Likely story.

Pssst... Freeway speed with 3-car length in between cars is what we'd call "tailgating" around these parts. What do you think this is, Nascar?

Yeah, whatever happened to the "four second rule"? If a car passes something like a road sign and you get to that sign in less than four seconds, you're driving too damn close for highway speeds.

This.

The only time you should get 'spritzed' from another car's washer fluid is if you are at a dead stop and their spray isn't calibrated correctly (been in this situation a few times). That's life.

What does driving a 'POS' have to do with getting hit (or not) by wiper fluid? You don't make a lot of sense.

Ah, defensive insults... the expected response when a thread doesn't go your way.

Four second rule quite simply does not exist in any semi-urban environment. You think there's even room on the road for 2 million cars to leave football fields between each other? 3-4 car lengths is the norm for the freeway, and there will be other people willing to pull into that gap all day.

You won't find much sympathy, some, but my car my decision on when I need to do it.

nevermind 3-4 car lengths, even at one car length they'll try to squeeze their big ass truck in.

Not looking for any. It's a free country so do as you wish, but if i see a blatant dick move then i'll call them out on it, be it in a public space or not.

At 70 MPH, the spray from the car in front goes a LONG way back. If you live in Los Angeles, you've never gone that fast on a freeway. :)

And if you ever drive a convertible, you'll see how many people will spray you just for the heck of it.

I own a convertible and heed the following as gospel:
Do not tailgate.
Stay 100 yards behind garbage trucks any time and campers on Sundays (draining their sewage on their way home).
Avoid flocks of birds flying overhead.

I HATE HATE HATE people who use their wipers while driving during sunny days. Last minute lane cutters, non-signalers, left lane slow drivers, etc i can tolerate, but it's just asinine to be using your wipers when the sun's out.

If you know your windshield is dirty, clean it BEFORE you drive. There should be no reason for you to use it while driving and spewing your gunk and dirt to the car behind you, especially to someone who wash and wax his/her car on a monthly basis. Unless a pigeon inadvertently unleash his entire bowel onto your windshield covering the ENTIRE driver side, there should be NO reason for you to use wiper...EVER.

this is a joke right?

Seams to me that if you only wash your car monthly you don't give a shit about it either, so why should anyone else?

Unintelligent arrogant people have the intense desire to let everyone else know how derp they are. Then when called out on their absolutely ridiculous opinions they get mad, sling insults and crawl away while laughing about how dumb everyone else must be. :whiste:

LOL, I do this on purpose to see if I can get the people behind me to clean their windshields too. Sometimes I can even see the chain of me, person behind me, person behind them. Gotta do something on 1000 mile road trips.

I also can't stand anything on my windshield, so I clean it all the time as a matter of course. For that matter, I can't even stand the wipers on my windshield, which is why I use rainx fluid, as long as I am over 40 mph I don't have to use my wipers no matter how hard it is raining (except for mist).

So what exotic priceless piece of art do you drive that turns you into a raging maniac when somebody in front of you cleans their windshield and gets a few drops of water on it?

of all the things to complain about.... OP is an odd duck!

Gotta agree, with all the things one could become bothered by while driving---not using blinkers, burned out brake lights, left lane squatters, etc., etc.---windshield washer fluid isn't exactly high on the list.

But you can follow me, OP, since my washer nozzles are on my wiper arms, thereby curing the overspray problem for you.

i used both my front and wipers and spray a lot this weekend when it was sunny. I was driving through some muddy roads over by Galena, IL and couldn't see!
