It happened 3 years ago, I was coming back from swimming class and I saw a crumpled up paper-looking-thing on the ground. Turned out to be a $100. There was nobody nearby and no name tag on it, so I pocketed it. I was unaware until recently that such actions are wrong, and I apologize.

oh, shut the hell up.

you find $100 on the ground, pick it up, you keep it. Good. You did the smart thing. Otherwise, gimme $100.

Hey, if you find an unidentifiable $100 bill on the ground, go ahead and keep it. If you find $100 in a wallet with ID in it, turn it in to your local police station's lost and found or call the guy on the ID.

There's a difference there. The lone $100 bill is unidentifiable, therefore no one can verify it's theirs.

So thats where my $100 went that i was going to use to pay for my pets medication so he would become better 😀

Maetryx here, 😎

I would advise that you never submit details of possible crimes, or the details of any ongoing legal actions in any forum. That's the lawyer answer to your dilemma. Note: I'm not a lawyer.

<< I believe he is referring to this thread where the guy got railed on for finding a watch... >>

Yep, and in that case, the guy KNEW who the watch belonged to. In this case, Pretender did not see who dropped the bill, and money is unidentifiable unless someone is anal enough to record the serial numbers or mark the bill (pretty damn unlikely).

I found 250 dollars at a Home Depot once. I went "Yoink" and snatched that up like a step dad in a bear trap. I put some gas in my girlfriends car and took her out to eat. That was cool. I'm always finding money. Loosers weepers baby!

im sadden by this, and to let you know I lost $100 about 3 years ago, I want it back, I saw you pick it up! :|

danny~!

Once, when I was canoeing the Quinipoxet River with a boy scout troop, I lost my entire wallet. I got out of the canoe at a bend in the river to fish out some gear from a flipped canoe, and next thing I knew I was up to my neck and my wallet was long gone.

Two weeks later, a fisherman found it and dropped it off at my house, with everything intact -- money and all. He didn't even leave his name.

I wouldn't have been upset if the $30 in my wallet had "dissapeared" on-route to my house, I was just glad to get it back. In fact I probably would have given the guy the money if I knew who he was. I suspect the gentleman who returned it got a lot more satisfaction out of returning it intact, though. It's easy to respect actions like that.
