i have to clean out my ear

my hearing in my left ear has degraded for months now, i can barely hear out of it. also, i have had trouble swallowing/gagging (yeah, go ahead and p/c++ with the jokes, har har)

this page linked says "Finally, since the ear canal shares some of the same nerves which give sensation to the throat, ear wax can provoke a "tickle in the throat" which can then lead to cough."

so i am thinking that maybe i just need my ear cleaned out really really good.

before i go to the doctor, i'll try it myself

i want to stop at Osco Drug store on my way home tonight and buy something to use on my ear tonight

1.) Tilt head
2.) Drop in 5-6 drops of cleaner
3.) Wait 3-5 minutes while it fizzes in your ear
4.) Tilt head to empty out ear
5.) Repeat with other ear

Some of the kits you can buy throw in an ear washer.

Ear spoon. Just be careful. Yea, you aren't suppose to put things in your ear or remove 100% of the wax, but this way works the best. It is also the most uncomfortable.

I do it myself...I use a Chinese tool--stick of wood w/a sort of hook thing at the end...stick in, pick around, pull earwax out, done.

doc says my ears are always clean

I've had chronic ear wax buildup issues. First time I went the doctors had this huge syringe and drew water into it. Then they forced it into my ears repeatedly. Lots of ear wax and blockage came forth; thick plugs of reddish-brown wax that were quite firm. Now it happens ever year or two, but I just use the fizzy acid in them and it seems to work. Burns though.

Use a ear sprayer/washer thing, with hot water. just fill up the sink halfway with hot water and let the junk fall in there.

Also letting a hydrogen peroxide solution soak the inside of your ear works.

Most of those kits are simply a bottle of hydrogen peroxide and a rubber bulb. Use the bulb to inject the solution into your ear. Wait a few minutes while it fizzes (this won't hurt). Fill the bulb with warm water to rinse out the broken up wax. If the blockage is bad, you'll have to do this a few times in each ear.

I've done it myself with little issues. It is easier to have someone else drop the stuff in the ear but it can be done by yourself. Get some cotton to put in your ear after the specific time so that when you are going to the bathroom you don't dribble all over.

Also, use on of those blue baber snot sucker bulb things. You put warm water in it and flush your ear out over a sink. The wax stuff they sell just softens and dissolves some of the wax (I believe it is simply a modified stool softener) but the water flush actually removes alot more. I don't ever do it more than 2 times a day as it can supposedly do some damage.

are you kidding? its SO easy...you can do it yourself!

Get some Q-Tips
Put some baby oil...or just water on the end.
Stick it in your ear...just be careful about it..you will feel if its gone too far
Go slow and spin the Qtip around..you may need 3-4 to get a lot of it out
And thats it...just dont go too far in...but ull know when its getting a little far
