My RAM
My mobo

I'm pretty cautious on mixing memory.. is my only safe bet to bet another 1GB pair of this exact mem?
Or is there a manufacturer that makes mem that is compatible with everything? I've had mixed results in the past on non-Intel chipsets mixing memory from different sources.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Sell it an buy 2x1GB sticks. 4 sticks will require relaxed memory timings and can be a headache when trying to get different pairs to run.

Any comments on these?

2GB corsair VS

ocz 2gb

how does my current ram compare to the ocz for overclocking?
heres a 3dgameman review of my memory for additional info on it link

I guess the question is, is the OCZ capable of those timings@ddr500?
And will the corsair even hit ddr500??

snip of the review of my current ram, to encourage replies
Conclusion:

The GeIL Ultra Platinum PC4000 Dual Channel Memory's performance at its default speed is blistering fast. This is possible because of the excellent 2.5-4-4-7 memory timing. While that's commendable, I was able to use a timing of 2-4-4-6 at 500MHz DDR. This results in better performance, which is always good thing. As for overlooking. Well, at it's default memory timing it wasn't successful. I was only able to push another 5MHz out of the memory. Relaxing the timing though would probably yield much higher overclocking results. Keep in mind that lowering the timing is not always the smart thing to do, and the reason being behind this is that what you would gain on one end, you lose on the other. Also, this memory currently doesn't come in a 2GB kit, only 512MB or 1GB. If you are in the market for PC4000 memory this would be an excellent choice.

Pros:
- Stable, Reliable, & Affordable
- Blistering fast memory timing at 500MHz DDR
- Handy Temperature Thermometer

Cons:
- Not available in a 2GB Kit
- Not much overclocking headroom at the default memory timing

Sell the 2x512MB you have right now and pick up 2x1GB of value RAM. There's not much of a performance difference between DDR400 and DDR500, and the money would be better spent elsewhere. If you overclock, you can just run a divider. Don't get Corsair RAM though, since the DFI board is picky about RAM and doesn't work well with Corsair.

I dont overclock ATM.. but I do prefer to keep the best OCing mem for the money on hand if possible in case I decide to later on.

I dont like dividers if at all possible.. i prefer running 1:1..
but didnt know if that VS ram was as good as my Geil or maybe better?

I really dont know cuz this stuff is all trial and error and I dont write off "value ram" as immediately worse than anything else.

Sell the existing 2X512 Geil and then buy 1X1GB Geil. You can't go wrong. But if money is a question, then just the 2GB OCZ. It is well known on the forum about the incompatibility of Corsair VS ram with your mobo. So you might as well go with the OCZ or Geil 1GBX2 sticks.
