I have had it since last week...
hey I just installed the zalman 9500!! About 2hrs ago...shes rock steady below 30c for idle...so far shes been at 27c...for a while now...
I will leave on tonight and check her when I wake up...
I used AS5 as my thermal compound!!
Since the 9500 is hoooked directly to the mobo the fan is spinning at kazillion revolutions per minute and you can hear it doing so!!
Its not an annoying . it just sounds like a fan on steriods!

In a few minutes I`m going to attach it to my Zalman Multi fan Speed controller and throttle that bad puppy down abit!!!

My Asus Probe also is exactly the same as the Everest!!

probably Monday or tuesday I will test this bad puppy at load!!!
Then I will post my findings!!

**** I will be re-installing the XP120 and doing the same thing!!****

actually.....your intellect amazes me Pabster....

I have seen different programs read the same sensor and post different temps reading the same sensor.....

My point in saying that is....its not all that common that different programs will read the same sensor the same.

I have seen a huge disparity between 2 or 3 different programs that were all reading the same sensor.....

But thats ok......doh

I think Jedi revealed at some point that he lives in the same region as I do. That's why his Idle Temp today with his CNPS-9500-LED is about the same as my Idle Temp with my XP-120:

27C or about 79F

I should say, "curb your enthusiasm," or "get a grip on yourself," . . . . but I'mOKYourOK . . . . :D

Thing is, Yoda is running a P4....lil different than the venice (or win) that you have. Those are excellent temps though for your 3000. How loud is it? Nice temps there Yodal!! I wanna see load dude!! ;)

And what region is this? The North Pole? :p

But seriously, unless this is not a Prescott or Gallatin core, idk how temperatures can be so low...

Let me correct myself. This morning, my mobo temperature was 79F -- there was a marine layer coming in from Orange County, and it was a bit chilly -- I was wearing a Polartec jacket indoors.

My Idle, with a Northwood 3.0 OC'd to 3.6, was more like 84F or 29C.

Here's something else. I cannot verify, because all this -- even from the honorable JediYoda -- is hearsay. But I thought I had indications -- "intelligence by word of mouth" -- that HSF's with heavier copper heatsink bases had lower Idle temperatures at whatever room ambients prevail. This doesn't address the issue of Idle-Load spread, but it does push closer in line with "water-cooling." Remember that some 20 water cooler kits were reviewed at THG last year, and the lowest thermal resistance was still above 0.20 C/W.

. . . JediYoda has the Gallatin core, as do I. Northwoods run cooler than Prescotts, and the socket-478 3.4EE is still the .13-micron Gallatin.

Orange county...hehee......
Monterey County.....:)

I will be stress testing this thingee probably tomorrow evening when I get off work!!
I am off all day tuesday!!

I still want to install the XP120 and do the same...isle and load....

Also make note...these temps are using AS5.....it has not had time to cure nowhere close to the 100-200hrs!!

Also if I idle the fan down using my Zalman Fan Speed controller my temps rise to only a few degrees centegrade.....right now with the 9500 idled down my temp is 30c.....

Anyways-- Like I said...
The XP120 is next......

The winner between the 2 will go in my new AMD build.....

Scheduled for around Christmas or soo..

:)

I thought you need to use the zalman hardware. I have the xp90 hardware bracket on MB now.

Maybe I am misunderstanding this.
