I have the worst luck.

I live in a frat house type dorm thing, just me and another guy. I noticed a door that I've never opened, and low and behold, there was a XBox 360 in there. I went down stairs and hooked it up, and turned it on. No problems, ran fine and looked great, except the cd tray was caught on something and there wasn't any controllers. No big deal. So I bought me a controller from Best Buy. I pulled it apart, fixed the CD tray, and turned it on without putting the case back on. CD tray opens, controller works, so I try a game.

Son of bitch froze and now RRoD.

This says nothing about your luck. Your luck could well be better than average and this could still have happened since a statistic I read somewhere lately reported that about 54% or 56% of XBox's fail in this manner. Does that make you feel better?

The fact that it waited to die until after I bought it is the issue. I wouldn't have thought anything of it if it was dead right out of the box.
