Umm, I don't get it. According to your profile you're home is in Manassas, VA which is like 20 miles from Washington, DC. Why Don't you get a tire from a place in Washington DC? A city that size has to have your tire.
I don't blame you on not wanting to drive with the donut though. According to Street Atlas USA Manassas to Bridgewater via Interstate is 115 miles. I doubt the donut will hold up that far. As for full sized spares, don't buy a new tire or rim. Get a used one from a junkyard. Probably won't look great and the tire will have serious tread wear but it'll still hold up better than a donut.
