Then you obviously haven't used a moto droid keyboard because it's useless without staring at it as there is no tactile way to tell which keys you are pressing. It's also tiny and laid out without offsets between the keys/rows. I find it useless.

2010 ??? $???
I want Windows Mobile for sure, as its all Ive ever used. The 6315 had a separate keyboard but I always used the touchscreen since these items were mostly for daytrading at work and all I needed was news and real time stock quotes. The web and posting on AT was just for fun. I think Ill stick with HTC, since I prefer the affordable and reliable Tmobile service Ive had for 10 years.
I got my moto Droid for christmas, I really like it. I have surprisingly had no glitches at all, it has never been turned off since I activated it, hasn't froze up on me once which I think is really impressive.
The physical keyboard takes getting used to but it's part of what I liked about it, I hate not having the option of hard keys. Much better for typing on the move. the ONLY thing is I wish I could get a miniot wood case for one![]()

You might like the HTC HD then. It's a pretty smooth phone (after 6 minutes of warm-up) and there is no shortage of applications to run on WinMobile.
Right now, I have the iPhone and HTC Hero, and I like the Hero, than the Droid, or even Nexus One, because the Sense UI is pretty slick. Also, the phone speeds up incredibly after a certain time of usage. I don't even use my iPhone at all anymore, the interface just seems too simple and OLD now. I don't get why people are still so attracted to it.

Here is your fix to the call quality issue that some people seem to have.

CALL Button
Enter SPC Password - 000000
VERIFY
04 Vocode
Select EVRC-B
This fixes the sound quality issue (assuming your problem isn't related to something else).
This actually takes you to the PROGRAM menu and you will be able to switch back and forth between 13k, EVRC and EVRC-B. So you aren't making a chance to your phone that you can't reverse. The phone will reboot after you make the change.
I'm not having any issues with call quality, but I went ahead and made that change just for the hell of it. Mine was indeed set to EVRC - the older tech.
Yep, I did this a while back and it did make a noticeable difference. Though, I can't understand why the Droid would ship with the ability to use the newer technology but not have it enabled by default.
Another thing to try is updating your phones PRL. Dial *228 and hit option two, then wait for it to finish. I've already had two updates since mid November, and I always have great service.
One thing I did read was that not all towers use this tech yet and that could lead to people not being able to make calls if this isn't supported? Not sure if that is true or not, as no one has posted about not being able to make calls after the change..but it's what a user posted.
Never heard that, but I suppose it could happen. Either way, switching to EVRC-B on my Droid has made a noticeable improvement in voice quality.
