I would doubt a snowblower was 2-cycle. It need torque. OP - if there is a dipstick/drain plug, it's 4-stroke.

If the Plug is getting wet, it's getting fuel. Next - is it getting air and fire? And as Eli said - compression.

There apparently are 2 cycle snow blowers, but they're going to be the exception.

Usually use the Tecumseh 2 cycle engines, apparently. Neat.

I've got a Toro with a 2-cycle that's 10 years old and still going strong. It's a single stage model that is more or less self-propelled. It pulls itself along through the snow. I've got a 300 ft. driveway and it's served me well. It does not like snow over 10" though. But neither do I. 🙁

im just soo tired from pullin the cord; then pulling my back... i just need to chill for a while till i get enough energy to go out there and fool around with my dipstick in the cold haha.

Pull off the sparkplug wire and hold on to the metal piece while yanking on the cord. If you feel a tingle your magneto is working.

Most snowthrowers have both a Fuel Primer button and also a Choke.
On my Snapper a 8HP unit, you Prime a few times, Throttle to Max, Choke On, Fuel Valve On, then you pull the handle. Let it idle about 10-20 secs on choke, then ease off the choke. When it smooths out (a few secs or so) it is ready for use. And these do have an oil sump. Only very small, low power units, might be 2 stroke.

If it's small enough to be only a two stroke it most certainly does not have pneumatic tires. :hmm:

Yes that is the scream of joy with some fear mixed in.

I think my friend actually does a band of nothing but him and people screaming like jerks on rollercoasters at Cedar Point. The band is called Nut Screamer - seriously. You might find something you like there. But just for kicks, i'm gonna try that cause i don't want to hurt my hands tomorrow for the show/gig.

My annual "I did not run it dry" fix for the weed wacker.... tweak the carb adjustment screws one turn (remember which way) give it a few pulls, return to original position.

This little trick appears to remove or loosen the varnish on the needles.

My 5hp Toro has a primer bulb. Open throttle, open choke, two pushes of primer bulb. One pull start.

Unless I try to run it on water. Works well with gas though.

Hehe, more less.. I did try to start it a while back but i was like: *it'll be alright*

As of now, i have a blister on my finger, a soar back, and almost 6" of snow in my huge driveway. I need a waaambulance!

I pulled the plug, blow-torched the plug till it got warm, tried again... kept pulling... gloves on = skin tore on my right index finger. There seems to be no preasure when pulling it. I don't know if it was made like that or the rings are gone. It does have power when it runs though..
