holy cow, what a line up - and only $40 for a 3 day pass! i think i may need to make a pilgrimage to memphis - but hmm...memphis or jazz fest???

DannyLove,

Please don't post stuff like that again. I am in Florida and can't make it and it just hurts to know I am missing that show.

The Beale Street Fest is located at the end of Beale all along the banks of the MS River. Last year they had somewhere around 150,000 show up over the weekend. It is well worth the $40. You can also hang out on Beale where there are tons of clubs.

By the way, the Music Fest is just one part of the whole Memphis in May. Two weeks after the Music Fest they have the World Championship BBQ cooking contest along the MS River banks. They start THursday night and end Sunday. There are hundreds of teams from all over the world competing and man do they party.

I will be in So CA this week. I fly out tomorrow morning going to Orange County. I have to set up some computers and VPN at our Service Center in Buena Park. This will be my first time in CA and I have to get a rental car and drive. I have heard it is better than when I was in Boston last year trying to get around in a rental. What should I do in my spare time there? I will arrive Thursday and leave Sunday.

Check out the new Disneyland California Adventure thing. I heard it's pretty cool. I think they have a huge, kick@ss gamezone there. For that matter, go to Disneyland or Knott's Berry Farm (right there in Buena Park)

Or you can kick it at my pad and suck down some beers and play some Dreamcast.🙂

PM me and maybe i can give you some places to go.

Thanks for the CA tips. Our service center manager is going to take me out one night, but he is older so I don't know where that will be.

The fried pickles are awesome. Also, Memphis BBQ is the best in the world.

Maybe one of you form CA could tell me the best route from Orange County Airport to Orangethorpe Rd. in Buena Park? Should I take the scenic route up PCH to Beach Blvd?

if your going to be going to Beach Blvd around PCH, then you have to visit Venice beach. Also about two blocks outward in Santa Monica is the Third Street Promanade. Ask around that place is sooo tight, losts of shops and lost of entertainers and interesting people to see. good luck! and enjoy!

Venice Beach is tons of fun. Last time I was there I got my picture taken with that dude who rollerskates around playing guitar (he's in like every movie that has a scene on Venice Beach).
