I have offered them exorbitant amounts of money to extend my account until the last subscriber drops off, but Zuni has been most uncooperative.

The forums load super fast for me, and I am not a subscriber. How much faster can the forums load?
The speed increase is really negligible anymore, the real advantage is the PM limit & full search capability.
As for you non-subscribers who think we're just whining, STFU.
We're the ones that paid up the day it became available, renewed the day it expired, & now are all going to catch a giant shaft come Monday when they won't even let us re-subscribe to the end of the forums. The subscriber forums will be up & running until the very last subscriber expires, & we're here ready & willing to pay to be there.
Yet they won't take our money.
You have to admit that makes no sense at all.

Begin rant.
I have been a subscriber since it was first offered.
Exactly one year later we were told, "Faster Forums & New Subscriber Features on the Way!" by Anand Lal Shimpi.
Did anything ever come of it?
I subscribe because:
1) To show my support for the best forum on the internet, the servers, staff, bandwidth and other overhead isn't cheap. Yes my $30/yr is piddly but it's a bargain considering all the money I have saved, everything I have learned and the friends I have made.
2) I like having a 1,000 PM limit ... if they could increase the non-subscriber limit to 500 I'd be VERY HAPPY.
3) I hate the annoying empty side banner on the left.
4) No ads
5) Ever since last year, the non-subscriber servers have no speed/lagging issues that I'm aware of. I've seen my wife surf ATOT using her non-sub account and it's plenty fast.
End rant.
Uh, "giant shaft?" You would only be shafted if they cut you off mid-subscription. You're not being denied anything more than what the admins publically and purposefully offered.
The complainer(s) telling others to STFU? Don't you find that a bit asinine?
