I have no effing idea why I decided to reinstall and play No One Lives Forever 2...

Yes, I know it's an old game...but for the n-th time I've played it the dialogs and gameplay just don't get old, plus it's running beautiful with no hiccups aside from not supporting widescreen resolutions.

This is on a 2.4GHz XPS M1330, 3GB of memory, Nvidia 8400M GS Vista x64. Definitely overkill for the game but that's why it's totally awesome 😀

Anyone tried Contract JACK?

NOLF:2 was much better than NOLF. No stupid "stealth" sequences. Better AI (for it's day anyways) and much better dialogue.

You have got to be kidding! The dialogue in NOLF2 was horrible. NOLF2 dialogue was trying too hard to recapture the campy 60-ish feel that NOLF1 captured so well and so effortlessly.

No doubt that the AI was much better in 2. As far as gameplay, they are both so different from one another. I liked both for different reasons, although there were boring sequences in both.

NOLF is one of my favorite games of all time. It is just so funny and action packed. I need to dust it off and play it again, truly an underrated game.

NOLF and NOLF 2 were some of the most fun I had playing a SP FPS. I should buy these again when I have a little free time; I could go for some pf that special NOLF action blended with campy humour.

The NOLF series is probably my favorite single player FPS series of all time. Fantastic games and I'd really wish Monolith could/would make another one. Oh well, at least there's FEAR (ZzzzzZzzzZZZZzzz).

It's one of quite a few games I bought shortly after release but still haven't quite got round to playing yet. Has it been that long? My, how time flies. It's on the list though. It's good then, I take it?

Both are very good games. Btw, this is one of the few games in which I actually spent time in overhearing conversations in-between the AI...some are really funny! 🙂

Allegedly Contract JACK was horrible. I never played it due to all the bad reviews it got.

Same here. At least one review I vaguely remember said everything that made NOLF2 a great game was left out of Contract JACK.

Contract JACK was not horrible, just not remarkable. It was fairly nice as a shooter, just very short and not very ambitious or engaging beyond the usual fps premise.

I loved that game. I will always remember the level where you are fighting off ninjas in a trailer park during a tornado 🙂

Mine to. I'd buy a new one in a slit second if they developed it.

One of the best (and funniest) game levels ever. Let's think about this for a second... you're in a trailer park during a tornado... fighting ninjas. And you end up getting rocketed in a trailer by the tornado a la Wizard of Oz. Just thinking about this level is blowing my mind.

Rest of both games are pretty great too. Why the heck isn't there a part III in development yet?

I think the NOLF games were received well by critics considering all the awards the series has racked up but they weren't all that commercially successful. Sadly, money comes first. Maybe one day we'll see Cate Archer again... hopefully. 😀

I have played NOLF through at least 3-4 times loving it but never got past the first 10 minutes of NOLF2 for some reason. I think a lot of other good games came out around then and I was distracted.
I will definately reinstall NOLF2 and play it through some day though.
Re:Contract Jack, I actually liked it very much and have played it at least twice. The ending was time sensitive and kind of tough. Loved the snowmobile!

Having an aged P4 system has advantages, you get around to playing games you cast aside a long time ago and you replay some great ones. Eg: MOHAA, Spearhead and Breakthrough. I just finished the first two and am going to start Breakthrough right after I finish Chaser- again.😉
