Preface: Somewhat weak rant, 2/10 maybe?


Background: If you print out an online label via USPS shipping label, you get free delivery confirmation with priority mail. You do not have to pay for the label online.

Story: So I walk into the post office, the same one as I always do, and try to ship out 2 items, expecting there to be no problems. The dialogue goes something like this:

StupidCuntWhoreBitch (now referred to as SCWB): It's going to be .65 for delivery confirmation
Me: Uh no it's not, if you scan it will come up as free
SCWB: That's only if you pay for it online
Me: Uh no it's not. I've done this hundreds of time
SCWB: They shouldn't have been, they're doing it wrong
Me: Uh, if you scan it in it'll come up as 4.60 + 0 for delivery confirmation
SCWB: We can't just give it to you for free
Me: YOU STUPID wise and beautiful woman WHORE BITCH, JUST SCAN IT AND IT WILL SAY WHAT I NEED TO PAY, IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE FREE
SCWB: That's only if you pay online
..........
Me: whatever, just do what you gotta do


I came back to the office and actually spent a good 10 minutes looking for just 1 paragraph that I could bring to her which would explain such a simple concept. Alas, the wording is vague enough that I think her idiocy (or pride) wouldn't let her do it. Also I was kinda afraid they might call the cops on me. I have seriously never been so angry over such a simple thing.

I called USPS and filed a formal complaint. The rep. also said I was in the right and SCWB does not know wtf she's doing. I actually got a confirmation number and plan to follow through. Stupid wise and beautiful woman whore bitch, fucking up my shit.
 
Is it me, or does the post office always have some of the worst customer service ever? I just don't get it. Once in a while you get a gem, but i can say a majority of the times, the employees are generally a-holes.

I don't have a scale or I would. I don't want them to send me the package back because I shorted them 5 cents in shipping.
 
Yes, some Postal Workers aren't properly informed. They usually make up things that feel correct.

I got charged for DC again, because I had to pay additional postage for my prepaid media mail label. He didn't override it when he scanned it, "because I have to weigh it again"

And the other time, he wouldn't use priority mail tape on my package because I had a prepaid (PRIORITY) label. "you shipped it online, you're suppose to use your own tape":roll:
 
You can get free priority mail boxes and tape. I use that tape whenever and wherever I can. I use it to ship out UPS stuff because it doesn't matter to them. I use it to fix a broken window, tape a babies diaper. Just don't use the tape for USPS first class mail.

USPS hasn't had free tape for quite some time. They caught on quickly and nuked the freebies.

I was tired of dealing with overpaying and I bought a scale off ebay, works great and saves me time.
 
Hm if you already paid for shipping seeing that you are angry at $1.30, I"m assuming that she weighed it when you dropped it off? Delivery Confirmation is free because it cuts down over the counter costs.

oh the agony of postal workers required to do everything right. Which is why everything is inefficient, causing debt and rate increases. Duetsche Post is doing terrific which is why we need privatization/public

nah, you don't have to pay for the postage online to get the DC for free. I don't have a scale so if I'm not sure if an item is going to be above the cutoff, I take it the the PO.

She wouldn't scan the DC number that was already there, which would've shown up on her screen as 4.60 + 0 for DC. That stupid wise and beautiful woman whore bitch.

Where can you get Priority Mail tape? I thought it was only for retail purposes. But I believe that USPS APO shipping supplies package carry them? I can't remember

They nuked the tape, that's it. The boxes, envelopes and stickers are still freebies. I'm considered ordering a couple of hundred rolls of the stickers and see if I can use them in place of the tape. Slap on 10,000 stickers and a box ought to stay closed.
