I was playing with my belt and discovered that my belt is actually two different colors. Brown on one side and black on the other side. The head can spin 180 degrees so it's two belts in one. Now I can wear my black shoes too!
 
I don't understand why people think their belts must match their shoes. NOBODY NOTICES IF YOUR BELT MATCHES YOUR SHOES!!!

Actually what I find funny is the fact that you have to wear black socks with dress pants/shoes, but yet the pants hide that part of the foot anyway, so what's the point?

I find black socks are made differently and generally less comfortable. They're too thin.
 
Matching your belt to your shoes (and pants color scheme) is like wearing a pair of socks. Its not necessary that they match, but you sure do look a lot better (and not as dumb) when they do.

If I were interviewing someone, I would notice and that's why it should matter. You never know who is paying attention to the DETAILS.

Black socks come in sports socks, longer sports socks, as well as the usual dress socks.

So you should shop around.

And no, the pants do not hide your socks when you're sitting down. Which is why you should not be wearing white Nike socks with a suit.

You should not be anal enough to put any weight on the color coordination of a person's dress. Don't argue with me on this because I'm running out of legitimate defenses.
 
And if you would have looked at the tag where it says "Reversible", you would have discovered it that much sooner. 0 points for not paying attention to what you were purchasing.

you don't have to wear black socks unless you're wearing a tux. otherwise, you should try to match your shirt with a darker version. and if your pants are tailored correctly, your socks will be visible when you walk.

There is no "correctly". Some people prefer their pants to end at the ankle, and some people to just below it (heels). If I see your socks as you walk, I'm going to facepalm someone. Just my preference.

I personally hate the ankle look. It's worse than the baggy/pants-way-too-long look because it makes me think the person just grew out of it and didn't bother to buy new pants. At least with the pants too long, I can assume that they just suck at dressing.

The perfect pant length is one where the pants end right at the line where the shoe's heel begins.
