I Have Gastroenteritis

and I feel like crap.

Started last night and I went and saw the doctor today about it.

Last time I had this was when I was 11 years old.

I am so tired of going to the bathroom. The cramps are very annoying.

Lack of sleep is making me feel strange.

I'm also on a liquid diet.

Now I have to take time off work because of it.

I know the flu vaccine isn't against gastroenteritis but I had gastroenteritis every year and when I started getting the vaccine I didn't get it anymore.
Maybe I was getting a mix of viruses to weaken me and gastroenteritis just exploited the situation.

Sorry to hear that you have the bug. I haven't had it since 1991 (it was so bad I STILL remember it). For me I suffered horribly and vomited (painfully) a lot. I took this from Wikipedia:


"Globally, most cases in children are caused by rotavirus.[2] In adults, norovirus[3] and Campylobacter[4] are more common. Less common causes include other bacteria (or their toxins) and parasites. Transmission may occur due to consumption of improperly prepared foods or contaminated water or via close contact with individuals who are infectious."


I wonder which you have and how you got it?

Get better ... mine only lasted 24 hours and I lost 6 pounds!

when I first had mine it lasted 5 days. The first 3 were nasty but I started getting better around day 4.

Right now its still fairly nasty, but I feel a little better after some rest.

Nope kept missing out but thanks for the heads up. I should have gone today to see what they had when we got shut down for a cut fibre this morning. Instead I went home and did yard work like an idiot

The perils of living an hour out of town and needed to get the kid from day care. Doesn't give much time to hit up the places in town.
