I have become infatuated with the WBC

Meh. We can't stop them. If we stop them we have to stop all this occupy wall St business at the same time. I disagree with both instances of protest, but I have no problem recognizing their right to do so, as long as it's peaceful. All the WBC people do is really REALLY piss people off by doing and saying the most outrageous things in their protests. Theres no law saying you can't piss people off, provided you're not doing it in a way that causes them actual harm. Nor should there be such a law. If you're managing to piss someone off without actually doing anything to them, they need to reassess their criteria for being offended.

What if I came to your sons funeral with a sign saying. I'm glad he is dead, he deserved it and should have died sooner. Would you support this?

Hell no, I'd probably attack you. I wouldn't call for such things to be banned legally even then though.

I kind of have a (very) grudging respect for them in one respect.

They have real belief, they don't care what anyone says, thinks or does about/to them. And that's the core of religion, utter unshakeable belief that you are right and that you are working for your god.

Obviously to me what they believe in is bat shit insane but I don't make the rules on what constitutes a sensible religion.

By this rule of thumb shouldn't you respect Hitler?

Yeeahh... umm... yeah... *shuffles off*

Wait, you were serious when you brought up Hitler?

OK, I'll give you a serious answer.

I can respect the fact that he was a fantastic orator. This doesn't mean that I agree with anything else he did.
