I have Baldy18's user_info.sah, how do I change it back to mine?

Just like the topic says. In the big OK proxy meltdown I ended up with Baldy's user_info.sah. I was just prompted to check by Darkone's thread. How do I go about changing it back to me?

Everybody should check this out on their own machines as well! Open up your user_info.sah and just make sure.

Is this still an ongoing problem? Are you saying your "user_info.sah" on your computer has Baldy18's id in it? :Q

Maybe everyone should go directly to Berkeley until this thing sorts itself out?

If I understand this correctly, I'd just flush the whole install down the toilet and do another install real quick ... this time just go to Berkeley.

That's my user_info.sah. I'll reinstall.

Can someone offer a theory on how this could happened?

teriba, what SETI programs are you using? SETI Q, SETI Driver, CLIENT, SETI SPY?

How do I check my user_info.sah file? What program do I use to open it to take a look, or whatever is what I mean...

YOu can open it with notepad or if you're on the dos prompt, issue a type user_info.sah or edit user_info.sah while in that subdirectory🙂

Bah.. 🙁 Just checked my Win98 box and the user_info.sah had all fields blank. ARRRRGG. I don't know how long it's been that way.. I went to point to the Federation Proxy and then realized it was having trouble submitting..

btw, i've got a setidriver setup.. no baldy info.. just blank.
thing is, I realized it while it was hung up tryin' to transmit a WU..
when I realized the problem I tried to copy that WU Dir to back it up,
but stupid Win98 gave me a sharing violation.. Ah well, one sunk WU isn't so bad..

man this craziness make me reconsider eccp..

On the bright side, that federation proxy is pretty smoking now 🙂 couldn't connect a minute ago, but just now it flew through the WU download..

I'm sure that some simple line could be modified in the user_info.sah file but personally I would just redo the installation. The WUs you had cached will not be lost because S@H issues them out many times to different users.

For most of us this is not going to be a big issue (those only having a few computers) but those with many computers will have a job ahead. Everyone needs to check their own user_info.sah and verify that it has the correct information. If you were not using OKs Proxy, you probably don't have anything to worry about. If you were/are using OKs Proxy...you'd better look.

Come on RigorousT, don't leave SETI. I have found you to be one of the most interesting "characters" we have. 😉 You make me laugh quite often. 😀

True, I havent had any issues on my SETIQ relating to this, so it seems as if this was part of the TeAm Proxy problem. RigerousT, stay...................

RigorousT,

Time for your favorite beverage. 😉

If you make a trip down to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, I'd buy you one. 🙂
