Sorry, but my tab key for some reason posted this. Unless I bumped the Enter key...........:D (always possible.)

Anyway, My friend who has a Voodoo 5500 just bought a new P4B333/1.6A and now Need for Speed : High Stakes locks up before going into the game from the movie. Its a hard lock. It works with an old Geforce 2 MX of mine, but not the Voodoo 5500. I have tried every driver that I could find and no help.

Anyone have any idea's on what could fix this issue?

TIA

This is a shot in the dark, but I think I remember reading a while ago that P4 boards are using newer/different voltages for some of the addon cards..that could be a problem if it's true.

The Intel P4 chipsets won't work with the Voodoo5, but this is not an Intel chipset, so that's not the problem.

Yea, OS info is very important. Do other games work?

emeril..........:D Bam.

Sorry guys about not giving enough info. (I know better) The OS is Win98SE (which seems to be being phased out lately, anyone else noticing this?).

And yeah, didn't try more than a couple but Max Payne and Tachyon both worked, only Need for Speed was giving issues.. It currently has my old Geforce 2 MX in it for now.

Thanks for all the responses. I will be following up on those links. (I was smart and made ghosts of the original setup with the voodoo card and one with the Geforce so we could switch without a bunch of hassle.)

BTW, another 1.6A @ 140fsb (retail heatsink and something like 1.6vcore) with minimal case cooling. The cooling situation is going to change, and that chip hits 150 with minimal extra voltage, but wasn't Prime95 stable. After he changes heatsinks and can add a little more voltage I am sure it will be stable at 150 or higher. Great chips. He's going from one great overclock (Celeron 700 @ 1103 - 58% overclock)
to another......:)
.............................edit...............................
Those are some really good links, now I have some more stuff to try...........:)

Thanks again.

AGP version, and he is going to get a Geforce 4 in several months after a settlement he is getting, so if it was me it wouldn't be a big deal. Oh well, I am easy going......:D
