its pretty awesome that you stuck with your ethics instead of just going with the flow. Good luck with your interview. Kick arse (er, um...not literally....😛)

This thread has made me wonder about the concept of call-center outsourcing, and how effective it is. The whole point is to provide the service cheaper than a company can do it inhouse, but the tradeoff strikes me as being reduced responsiveness to the customer (i.e. troubleshooting process, escalation, etc. going through different organizations), and reduced pay and individual skill level to the call center associate.

Either way, good luck Nik!

This was only testing, aparently. Customer service test, technical test, spelling test, grammar test, typing test, and personality test. I passed all of them with flying colors. But now I have to wait 1.5 weeks to find out whether I got the job or not. :-\

You passed a personality test? How much was the bribe on that one? 😉

Good to hear so far. Hope you come out on top!

What type of illegel things were they pulling? Was it how they treated the employees or was it with how they dealt with the customers?

KK

Congrats on making it to round 2!

When you were there before, how did the other employees dress?

I'd shop at Meier & Frank, nice looking clothes that won't break the bank.

Right now, I have -$8 in the bank. 🙁 I don't have money for jack crap. So we'll have to go with the one pair of nice dress slacks that I have and my slough of three solid color t-shirts. Well... I only have three shirts. Oh well. Time to go clothes shopping for the first time in ... well, years.

I wouldn't sweat it at all. Just make sure that you're clean shaven, haircut, take a shower, clean clothes which aren't wrinkled and don't stare at the interviewers breasts (whether it's a male or female) and you should be ok.

😀

hmm i think i saw Sitel as a possible vendor for my company. I'll have to check tomorrow.

It's going to be nice to have a job where I get to know customers on a first-name, repeated basis. They'll have my phone number and extension directly to me. Granted I'm still going to get the arsewholes, but atleast I'll be dealing with someone on a more personal level, which is what I prefer.

hahahahahaha

Actually, the lady who set me up with the tests (initial screener) was fairly cute. But she's got a wedding band and I've got a wonderful redhead (read: I'm shaking in fear hoping she doesn't read the second line of this post) 😛

I'll go for the interview, but this means that I have to start dressing up on a regular basis. This is a dress-casual place. :frown: Oh well. Dress slacks and a solid color t-shirt... think that's dress-casual? I have no idea what dress casual means 😱

Dress casual varies from company to company. Where I work, its fairly lax so I can wear jeans and a t-shirt. Shirt tucked in of course. Usually I wear like a 3-button polo and jeans. Dress up a bit for the interview and just see how it goes should you get hired.
