My favorite from the era of the E30 is the original quattro... it and the E30 are both 80's cars though, not 90's... although they were made into the early 90's.

But you forgot one key element. Unless you fabricate your own motor mounts, you will be waiting up to a year to get them made. This is how long a friend of mind waited and he just got his. The demand just isn't there.

As to maintenance costs, they did not seem too high to me.

Dead on the money, but the apex seals tend to go out around 80K no matter how well the engine was taken care of. And the typical car owner would rather get rid of the car then pay to swap in a new engine or have it rebuilt.

Indeed; my neighbor has an NSX. She's an elderly woman, and I've seen her stall at the stop sign before.

It's one beautiful car.
