I live in a old brick apartment building and I have little to no reception in my new place. I only have reception in my bathroom and it's sketchy at best.

Is there something I can buy/install to boost my signal?

BTW I have Verizon and live in the Bay Area, CA if it makes a difference.

Do you have signal outside your apartment in the immediate vicinity?

i have really good reception outside of my building, just not inside. I was thinking about an antenna on the top of my building and running a wire into my apartment or something similar to that. My friends with ATT have the same issues in my apartment.

There are repeaters you can get, with an outdoor and indoor antenna, it repeats the cell signal inside your house and acts like a bridge between your phone inside and the network outside. Expect to pay $580 for one though.

And these repeaters tend to be provider-specific. If you change service providers you are usually OOL.

We just installed one in our building at work for our Nextel phones. It required a LOS to a tower. From there we have antennas on each floor. It helped tremendously but it wasn't cheap.

isn't that a lot of money?

To purchase a Wireless Extender cell phone signal booster for only $299.99 and improve your indoor cell phone coverage right now, visit our Wireless Extender shopping cart or by calling

I remember a lot of crappy places are like that, you have to leave the house to make a call, and sometimes it also depends on what cell company you're with.

They have some passive ones that you can use for auto's that supposedly do same thing. Antennae on outside of glass and one on inside. However, the ones I looked at were for specific frequencies and I doubted they'd make much difference, but, for price $20 or so, maybe an option.

I have the same problem. What I did was open the window and stick on up against the screen. If I get a call I go up against the screen and I can talk (I don't have long phone conversations anyway). It sucks but I've got used to it
