I have a VIRUS and need help!

I have gotten a virus through email that is sending itself to other people and I can't stop it. It is locking up my computer. I have tried to delete it and it is write protected and re-installs itself. I have a virus scan that is a couple of years old and will not detect this virus. Can anyone please tell me where to download a virus scan???

When searching for how to get rid of this mine.exe virus, I found someone had the solution and listed the instructions. When I do Start/Run and type Regedit ... the program opens and close in two seconds. How come it won't let me open it and use it?

go to windows run and type in "msconfig"


then uncheck any instances of mine.exe. restart, and then try to remove the virus.

Just download an eval of McAfee VirusScan at:http://www.nai.com/asp_set/buy_try/try/products_evals.asp
This is a fully functional version, but it only worls for 30 days. When prompted, create a Rescue Disk and boot your infected PC from that disk. Clean it, install McAfee on the (no longer) infected machine, run a scan on all files, and you should be fine!
