I have a USB printer--- can I get some kind of adapter and plug it into a parallel port in my router for sharing?

Whether the connection is wireless or Ethernet these suckers here print SLOW! (Now hooking up a printer to an Ethernet port on the router is obviously a different story, provided said printer has a little memory in it.)

Are you running WinXP?

I probably won't be back tonight. I have an early date with a publisher tomorrow morning.

see if we cant get this straight.

regular usb cord is male B(square) to maleA(rectangle)
hook that regular USB cable to your printer, and the other end into the adapter(female USB A to male parrallel)

The parallel end on that cable is a centronics connector like most printers and really old SCSI drives.

You can get a cable that converts that connector to a more modern DB-25 parallel connector like on the back of your PC and what is probably on your router for maybe $10 at any computer store. Or search for a USB->DB-25 parallel cable.

Here's one but it's waay to pricey: link

Edit: nm link above still gives you the wrong gender. And the way it adds the port through PnP kind of explains the price.
