like the title says. I have a sample of a 32GB PQI (jMicron controller) SSD that I really have no use for. Or do I?

Is there anything that, by using this drive, I can see some benefit performance wise?

Maybe put stuff on it that you need fast access to, but which the data doesn't change much. Applications? Games?

I was wondering about games. Does it make much difference in load times to have the DVD image mounted to the SSD, and/or installing the game on the SSD?

Load times depend on the program. Well written programs will minimize load times by prefetching, but sometimes even prefetch is not practical. The easiest way to test is to simply go ahead and try it since you have the spare anyway. I would bet that your load times drop significantly.

That being said, if you have no idea what to do with it, send it my way and I'll, uh, ensure it's properly... recycled.
Um.

Yeah.

Recycle.

you can use it for lots of stuff, anything really. as long as you aren't writing to it heavily all the time it will still work fine. it is still better than a hdd, yo0u can also use it in a laptop and get good mileage
