I have a question, when did Sony decide to copy Nintendo with their motion-sensor controller?

Anyone think they're lucky that they got sued for the DualShock patent thing? If they hadn't, they probably would have kept the original PS2 controller.

Isn't that bit late? In order the Sony to fully adapt and take advantage of the motion sensor/gyro, game developers have to code all around it again.

"Ah Sony, where ripping off the competition is a business model. So it's going to be wireless with a motion sensor. Golly. Breaking some new ground here! If only you could rip-off something like the Wii's price." - VGCats.com

Yes, thats why in the demo it presenter looked like he was having an extremely difficult time controlling the helicopter... it seemed like it was almost impossible to land. Obviously it was rushed.

The controller is bleh compared to Nintendos. That and they removed the rumble motors... bad move

That's what I read as well. I found it funny that the Nintendo people were quick to mention that they still had rumble features during their press conference :)

Yeah, it wasn't released to devs until 2 weeks ago, but they were still tuning it right up to E3.

They did a pretty half-assed job, almost useless since it's just simple tilt function. I'd be embarassed.

Not only rumble but they have a small speaker in the Wii-mote. That's two steps ahead of the PS3 controller.

No, there's no rumble because Sony lost a patent lawsuit. They copied somebody else's rumble designs and got caught. Nintendo either made their own or legitimately licensed it, so they can still make the function.

Well, it screams "NINTENDO RIPOFF!", but the only real question is "Will it be put to good use by the game programmers?"

Magic 8-ball says, "Wii will rock you!"

Don't forget the infrared port and the fact that you can move the Wiimote around instead of just tilting it.
