Im a sophmore, and im taking spanish rite now. How many years should i take? There is this one spanish 5,6 teacher, and if i get her, im basically screwed, so that will lower my GPA a little. So im thinking i should take spanish 5,6 during the summer. But i also really want to take 7,8 (heard it's an semi-easy a). but my school doesnt allow students to go on to the next level if they take a language during the summer. What do you think i should do?

yes the minimum is 2 years, recomended is 4 years. Im so stressed because of this damn teacher.

4 is unnecessary...take 3 and get a good grade on the AP's

3 sounds good as suggest above...and depending on when (if) you take the AP, college might not even see it

4 recommended for UC's, but you can get by with 3, MAYBE 2 for some of the lower "tier" UC's. For Stanford though, you probably need to do something spectacular. Only 2 people from my graduating class got into Stanford, none of them were valedictorians btw. One was a math genius, differential calc as a freshman I believe, the other one cheated his way through high school, SATs, SAT2's, and AP's. He's going to Yale now. :|

how did he cheat through all that? HS I understand, but it is probably pretty hard to cheat on the standardized test since they cover a lot of material and it is kind of hard to put it all on a cheat sheet.

Well, he would pay people to take his tests for him. He provides them with fake ids and the sort, pays them pretty well. He doesn't deny it, after he graduated, he openly told people that he cheated through high school and his standardized tests.

He also made it onto the cover of Teen Magazine I think, I'm not quite sure but I remember him making a big deal about it.

I'd recommend that you take 4 years of HS spanish. Even if you don't take the AP, it'll probably help you in waiving the language requirement (at UCLA you have to take a language test).
