Hi,

I have a PC that will not power up no matter what, but I've ruled out
a lot
of things (I think).

I had been using the machine before Christmas and plugged it out and
left
it idle for about a week while using a better machine. Then I hooked it
back up again, the power L.E.D. lights on the mobo when I switch the
power
supply on. But I try to switch it on and nothing happens the fan
doesn't
jump or anything. I tried starting it by touching the power terminals
together with a screwdriver on the mobo but nothing happens. Its weird
cause there seems to be power to the system because the power LED is
lighting on the mobo. I plugged everything out except the processor and
tried to start the machine but still nothing.

I'm just wondering is this an issue with the motherboard or the
processor
being fried and if they are I can't think how it happened as the
machine
was just idle.

Thanks for your help and for reading this

Spec:

ASUS a7nx8
Athlon XP 2200+
512mb 3200+ DDR Ram
