I don't get it. Why do they call a piece of writing, essay, report etc, "a paper"? I'd be in the mood to turn in a piece of toilet paper and tell my English teacher here's "A PAPER" you made us turn in.

In high school English class (long ago in a universe far, far away) we were challenged to write a paper and be "as creative as we could be."

I wrote something on humor/practical jokes, in yellow flair, backwards, right-to-left, starting on the last page from the bottom up (the last line was the first sentance at the top of the first page).

I got an "A+" for creativity, and an "F" for content, because she couldn't /didn't want to read it.

Write about something different..... like the advantages of a front-load washer versus a top-load washer.

Whatever...it's your paper...you think of something.

I had to do the same thing a while ago. Wasted all my time on ATOT and playing games. Wrote the paper about the bad effects computers can have on your social life. Pain is that like a week after I turned it in MIT release a report saying that excessive web surfing can reduce your attention span to that of a goldfish

Heh.. I was thinking something along the lines of the ethical and moral dilemmas of choosing the perfect topic. Things to discuss could include keeping reader interest high (not so easy), avoiding offending certain religious groups, and getting a high grade with minimal effort.

Screw it.. just write a paper on why Babylon 5 was a much better series than Star Trek...
