i have a old turn table

So i have a old turn table and i want to hook it to my comp so i can listen to it. the table has RCA out conections so i dont know how to do it. i have the rig in my sig and a audigy 2 zs. is there anyway to hook it to the sound card so i can play it? thanks you for your help.

You'll need a phono preamp. See this site: LP to CDR Tips. I used the PAIA kit, which works fine although it requires 2 9V batteries (impracticle if you want to use the turntable a lot).

sorry i guess i wasnt specific enough. i want to just play the sound through my comp speakers

Yeah I did this with the same card as you, but mine was external. Goto radioshack and pick up a preamp and a RCA to headphone thingy and plug it into mic. Bring up some mic program and press play!

Couldn't you use a rca to miniplug adapter and boost the gain through the soundcard?

Probably, but I think phono preamps do some other processing things to the signal besides amplifying it. I'm no turntable expert, though.
