I don't know if it's the shitty buns or the shitty meat or what, but somehow I'm re-addicted. Are the preservatives laced with crack cocaine? Maybe it's because I ate these fucking things by the dozen when I was a kid and deep in my psyche I crave that shit.

But damn, in the past 2 days I've had 2 McDoubles, 2 Double Cheeseburgers, and 2 McChickens.

Double Cheeseburger + McChicken + Large coke = $3!!!!

Costs less than an Amy's frozen lasagna.

It sounds delicious but I try to not eat that crap myself.
I always enjoy it while eating (not necessarily after) but I just refuse to pollute myself too much. Hell of a deal though.

keep in mind that before this week, the last time I consumed a McDonalds cheeseburger was when the McRib wasn't a special item.

At least get a salad so you can cover all your food groups. Better yet, get big mac sauce as the dressing, and you can build a big mac for cheap with the salad and sauce. :)

Eh... they're sometimes mushy after being there too long, but if you get a fresh one like most are, they're pretty decent, especially for a dollar salad. Plus I just use the veggies to stuff my burgers.

If you get a mushy one, they'll be happy to switch em for you.

Honestly if I want a salad we got super deluxe salads and shit here at work...cobbs, steak, wedges, you name it they make it.

what they don't have here at work is shitty $1.39 double cheeseburgers.

I eat a decent amount of McD's too :p

I avoid all the beef because of transfat, anything chicken is fair game.

The thing is McDonald's is not very good tasting but, like cigarettes, once your body starts to crave it you associate the tastes with something good. And that is the problem. McDonald's (and other fast food chains) have done the research and have learned how to make something that is addictive. It plays on the very instincts that our body relies on to survive to create an addiction.

Small amounts of natural trans fats occur in meat and butter, but there is no evidence that these are harmful like the synthetic trans fats made from vegetable oil.

Can't make a double cheeseburger at home for $1.39

Double cheeseburger is made out of 2 x 1/10th lb patties+cheese+bread.

Ground beef is around $3/lb, so that's $0.6 for the meat, and buns are less than $0.15 each if you make them yourself, and maybe $0.25 or so at the store. Add a few cents for ketchup, lettuce, and enough gas to cook over, and you're still saving money.

Now, if you make bigger burgers at home, using store-bought high-quality buns, over a charcoal grill, the cost can easily exceed McDonald's, but you are getting a VASTLY better burger. For cheapo stuff, homemade is still the winner in everything but effort.

Let me know where you can buy .6 worth of meat, 1 set of buns, and 2 slices of cheese.

Now, you can BUY all of those raw materials in sufficient quantity to make 18 double cheeseburgers, but then you're out $25 and you have to eat 18 double cheeseburgers before all your product spoils.
