I have a(n) [EDIT: anally retentive] neighbor somewhere.

One of my neighbors drives a large wrecker with an International engine home from work occasionally. He parks it on his own property. Today, he received a $10,000 fine for parking this truck on his property - a charge that I simply cannot even begin to comprehend. Their driveway connects directly to a truck route - so it's obviously not a weight restriction issue. There is no 'homeowners association' or anything of the like - it dissolved when the upper class people began moving in alongside the generations-old redneck families and litigation like this took it's place.

Also, they received a warning about parking a boat on their property. Perhaps somebody up here is a little resentful of other people's lifestyles, eh? And the sad thing is that this family moved out here to get away from this kind of crap in the suburbs.

Anyway, this kind of thing isn't without precedence. About a year ago, when AT&T (Or their contractor, anyway)was using the farm at the end of the road as a staging area for their fiber laying hardware, they received citations for dragging dirt onto the road. This is a dead end street that dead ends into a field, and any dirt that was tracked onto the road was gone long before it reached the property line for any house owned by someone who cares (My family has both sides of the end of the road, and soon the farm off the end). They also received citations for driving their 'loud' trucks up here at *yawn* 9PM. Nothing was ever said of weight restrictions, so I don't believe there are any - one of those trucks had a 10 ton drilling rig on the back.

5 years ago, my family was faced with a complaint about our vehicles - they were all 'too loud and too ugly' and when we refused to comply with this idiot's demands, we were literally told to "move out or the police will help you" by one of our neighbors. We told them to get off the property or the police would help them, and to come back with some LE to tell us to shape up or ship out. That never happened, and those fvcks moved out a month later.

And about six years ago, someone complained to the school board about the morning school buses making too much noise. Now we have to walk down to the truck route every morning.

Frankly, I'm fed up with these fvcktards, and it's prettymuch narrowed down as to which family is the one being a legal PITA - everyone else has been complained about or driven out. How should I make their life a living hell, but still remain perfectly within legal limits? Cummins based Dodge pickup? Older F-350 with a crate Cummins? Or somthing more direct?

I seriously doubt a mentally retarded person would have the faculties to make such complaints much less even care about it.

Methinks you mean you have an anal retentive neighbor.

Heh, already do that here. This house is in a constant state of rennovation. And 90% of our garbage gets burned - paper and leaves - and spoiled food gets tossed in the yard for wildlife to eat. And we do target shooting on property. Apparently there's nothing annoying that we can do on our own property that can rile their stupidity enough (Or nothing that the cops don't laugh at them for complaining about)

What kind of neighborhood is this? I am assuming you have a good sized yard...

I was gonna say "the local riceboys with fartpipes" ... but yeah, Harleys would own them even more severely. 😀

Friends of yours, obviously!

😛

heh heh

sure get a good old F150 . my father in law had a late 80's early 90's with a custom pipeing that made it loud. but well within the law. heck he had a state shariff next door!

if it was me i would talk to other people around there and come up with something. No reason someone else in the area should tell you how to live your life. if you want a loud truck and drive it during the day that is your right. if you want to take up woodworking then by all means start having fun. sam as if you want a ugly car then buy the ugliest you can find. screw em. if they dont like they can move.

bhahah that would be funny.

If you get a Cummins Ram, get one in the 94-02 generation. The new ones are too quiet. 🙂

Or you could just get into hot rodding and jack hammering as hobbies. 2 cycle dirt bikes aren't bad either.

I am confused, why and how did he get a $10,000 ticket? Who cited him, under what ordinance?

Someone reported him to county police, cop showed up, knocked on the door, and gave them a citation for $10k. I believe the ordinance pertained to the hours at which a 'large truck' could operate in a 'residential area'.

The more likely reason is that my idiot neighbor is pissed off that someone dare bring an engine louder than his I-4 into the neighborhood, yet again. And probably a bit of penis-envy for that killer ass boat.

Oh yeah, and we have people like that in our neighborhood. One lives on the top of a hill so they feel it's thier duty to force the entire neighborhood that they can survey to clean up. Another called everyone that owned a horse in the neighborhood to complain that one of thier horses took a dump on the dirt road. (this was the same person that tried to get legal action against us after we got the road paved).

Some people are like Puritans. They have a deathly fear that someone, somewhere, is enjoying themselves.

heh...petition to your city council that you need a new civil defense siren put up in your neighborhood since you can't hear the closest one.

Every first tuesday/wednesday/whatever a month should be pretty fun for this person.

Boy that sucks. I don't really know what you can do, except bother them more by doing things within the law, but to the maximum extent of the law. Build a fence around your house, making sure to abide by all the property codes for fences, but paint it a puke green/brown/blazing orange alternating color combination. Paint your house an awful color combination, too. And of course leave your christmas decorations up all year.

Since when is a parked vehicle in operation?

Exactly. I would contest that ticket immediately and take it as far as is humanly possible (although I'm sure they're already doing that.).

I think you and your neighbor oughta have a huge yard sale (invite all your friends.. post flyers in biker bars..) every saturday mornin'... a benefit sort of thing.. til you raise enough money to pay that fine..

I feel ya. My neighborhood they have a community ordinance that says that the grass in the front and back yard lawns can't be higher than 2 1/2 inches. This means I have to spend 30+ minutes every 5 days to cut both yards (they come around and check every wensday) and make sure the palms from the palm trees are cleared off my yards. Such bull sh*t! I really hate it, but im not about to move because of it. Ive made numerous complaints to the community mayor but with no luck. I feel your pain!

Never move into a place that has an ordinance
