glitch

yeah yeah, get in line, but seriously, the computer was copying like 5 gigs worth of stuff at a normal rate, so why the weird time?

You think it's ugly? I like it myself.

It's not a slow computer though, it was copying from a 45 gig hd to a 30 gig raid, and it was going at a decent speed, half of it got copied in under a couple minutes.

MS OS's have always had the problem of miscalculating copy time remaining. From Win3.1 thru Win98. I haven't seen that happen with Win2K tho.

What os u using?

BTW: Sorry to say but that is one ugly looking desktop. I could never work on that. Its all like inverse contrast and stuff.

win2k, what happened was that it estimated a low time, 2 min or so, and then kept subtracting. Once it past zero, it became the hideously high number you see in the picture

<< Could it be a problem with the RAID? >>

It might be, but aside from the number windows gave me everything else seemed ok, like the rate each mp3 was getting copied. It might just be windows has a problem calculating the estimated time for RAIDs, after all they are unusual. I guess it's not a big deal.

LOL, I like it, it's trippy. Works fine for me.

It's not a RAID problem. I don't have a RAID setup, and I experienced this. I just got a second hard drive ( the $85 60 gigger from Sam's) and I was copying data from one drive to the other. It started at like 8 minutes remaining, then went up to like 350,000 minutes remaining and started jumping around, but the transfer time was normal.

Ok, good to hear it's not a problem with my system. Are you running win2k also? yeah just never seen that before.

That desktop theme looks good imho....you're not using Litestep or anything are you?

I'm guessing it's because of the hd configuration (normal to raid) so it miscalculated the speed and time it would take

Nope, it's just the standard windows shell, no litestep or anything like that. Just tweaked the colors and the fonts :D
