But it's a toss-up between that good stuff and the women in Sweden and Spain 🙂 Sweden is wall-to-wall of the most gorgeous women you've seen, and since there are so many of them, they are all very nice! Also, don't forget the wine in Italy and France!

Thanks, GT, that's a lot of usefull info, unfortunately I won't have a chance to act on this for a long time. I just started 2nd year, and the only time I might do this is after 4th year.

I dunno if I have the physical and mental dedication needed for biking 10000+ klicks. So I just thought...perhaps I could arrive at St. Petersburg....buy some old, cheap Lada (or Moskvich) van for like 300 euro and travel with that. Fuel would cost a lot, but I could save on hostels by making the back of the van my home.

Or perhaps get a very fuel effient little car and stay at hostels....I dunno.

But hey, I have 2.5years to plan this..so hopefully it'll work out

Well, you may have more fun in the long-run if you shorten down the time there, cut down the number of countries, and stick to rail travel. I once met two bike riders from Australia who were in Europe for 6 months. They were biking from Italy to Norway, but they were stopping as money ran out to work. As an American, I could only stay in Greece for a maximum of 90 days. You may want to look into issues like that too. Like you said, you have lots of time to plan. But you'd regret it for the rest of your life if you don't act on this dream to some extent. Dreams don't tend to go away, and this is something you need to do in your youth. Like many I've spoken to, you don't need to wake up at 50 and realize the mistake you made by not acting when you had the chance.

After some more thinking..here is a better dream
dream revised

off the top of my head: about 15000km, about $3000 on fuel alone. If I get a van in St. Petersburg for like $500 euro, I could save substantially on living expensies...I would also wouldn't worry so much about space. I could take some clothoes and a bike too (for inside cities)

And with a car, I could actually go to Israel too...

Hope you plan to do some offroad driving, because I doubt any major roads are going to look anything like your sketch......

Why not just chill out in a few countries, like italy/germany/france, instead of going everywhere?
How much time do plan on spending in europe? that route seems a bit exhausting. bring a digital camera and save the pics often. you don't want to forget.
