I have a couple of quick questions about Quake II.....

I just bought it today, and have never played it before. My question is, I want to play my cousin online. Now she has a cable modem, and I am on 56k. Is this possible to do, since our speeds are so different? I see that I can host a server, and I am assuming invite her on to that. But should I let her host it, since she has a faster connection, or does that really not make a difference? And how do you let somebody know what server to sign up on? Thanks!

The best thing u should do is find a server that is fast for you. If it is fast for you, it should be fast for your cousin. You can try downloading a program called gamespy (www.gamespy.com) and decide on a server you wish to frag in.

RGN: Now it's different shooting at family members, that's not violence, that's just togetherness time. Actually, I am like that with every shooting game, I get all freaked out. Especially when I know I am being hunted. :Q

Definitely let her host if she's on cable. Know that she'll have a distinct advantage when it comes to reaction time because of the lag you'll experience on a 56k modem...but that's life.

You should try Half-Life then. That's the only game that's ever scared the sh!t outta me. You'll be crawling down some god-forsaken ventilation shaft, & a head crab will jump at your face out of the darkness. It's a hell of a lot of fun to let unsuspecting victims play in the dark.
