I stopped playing after yellow.

I think I played one of the other ones, but they got weird.
 
While I haven't played it since the Blue Version and think the cartoon is really really horrid, there's nothing wrong with what you're doing.

I also haven't played since Yellow.

My DS has been collecting dust and I really didn't want to sell it and go back to the PSP. So I picked this up today and all I have to say is...WOW!!!

This is what a Pokemon game should be! The online battle system works great! You can voice chat with the person your battling using the DS's built in mic! They kept the top down view but all objects are 3D now.

If you have a DS this game is definatly worth checking out.

I know of at least two peopel that preordered and another who bought it today. All are 20 and above, so no worries bro. We are in the digital age, and gamers grew up. Rather the original Pokemon fans grew up and so those that were really into it, still are.
 
I used to do it all back in 5th grade, of which includes the tv show, card game (tournaments no less), and the assorted video games. Pokemon Stadium was a cool game.
But after 5th grade, it died for me too.
