Not that I'm aware of. My uncle is a huge audiophile and he owns one (granted he paid more than ~$100 for the one he has) and he showed me. He played a CD he had, then ran it through the machine, then played it again. It was clearer. Hell, it may be psychological, but if it makes me THINK it's clearer, that's good enough for me.
