So I'm in Bangladesh right now. I just bought a BB gunpistolthing that heavily resembles a real gun. There is no orange paint, either.

So if I decide to stick this in luggage (and not carry-on) while flying back to the U.S., will any problems arise?

Definitely a big problem. It'll get caught in a scanner, you'll get a full body cavity search, it'll get confiscated, and you'll be on the terrorist watch list forever. You'll get searched every time you fly thereafter.
 
you sohuld contact the airline you are flying with for specific regulations regarding transport of such items. Typically transporting firearms or weapons isn't illegal. It just requires special procedures to do so.
 
BB guns do not require special packaging to bring in checked baggage on flights within the United States. However, I do not know what the regulations are for international customs. Still, a BB gun in checked baggage should cause no problems.

All went well. Packed the thing in luggage, and I am now in the U.S. Now I must figure out how to shoot this damn thing.

Fucking idiots cavity checked me at Heathrow though, even though I had pretty much nothing on me.
